Must See Art Exhibitions This Spring

Spring is here, the weather changes and so does the art scene. There are plenty of well-known exhibitions, but what about those unique ones? Here’s our top 4 must-see art exhibitions in different cities this Spring:

LONDON
Roger Mayne – The Photographer’s Gallery, March 3rd – June 11th
An exhibition of the late photographer Roger Mayne’s best work; a variety of black and white images, depicting scenes across 50s and 60s UK. Mayne’s most known work is his depiction of London’s Southam Street in the 50s in a series of portraits, which will be included.

NEW YORK
Seurat’s Circus Sideshow – The Met, February 17th – May 29th
George Seurat’s iconic 1887 piece “Parade de Cirque” will be exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum, alongside related works, such as Fernand Pelez’s “Grimaces & Misery – The Saltimbanques”. The works of the 19th Century take you back in time through the intricacy of Seurat’s use of oil on canvas.

TORONTO
Georgia O’Keeffe – The Art Gallery of Ontario, April 22nd – July 30th
Arguably one of the most successful and world-renowned artists will have over 100 works shown at the Art Gallery of Ontario. In association with Tate Modern, Georgia O’Keeffe’s work throughout the span of her career will be shown until late July.

PARIS
L’Espirit Français Contre-Cultures En France 1969-1989 – La Maison Rouge, February 24th – May 21st
A French exhibition about France, through an expression of revolution. Think sex, humour, self-indulgence and darkness; all felt throughout the late 60s to 80s and portrayed in film, music, TV and art.
